TIM & BARRY'S 25TH CELEBRATIONS
supported by Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grants

We’re delighted to announce that Tim & Barry have received Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grants funding to support our 25th anniversary programme.

For 25 years, we’ve documented underground music, art and the communities around them through photography, film, streaming, radio and events. Along the way, we’ve built an enormous archive of hundreds of thousands of images and thousands of hours of film documenting the people, places and moments we’ve encountered.

This funding is helping us bring that archive back into the world through a programme of exhibitions, screenings, workshops and conversations, while also giving us the opportunity to explore and organise parts of the archive and uncover material that hasn’t been seen for years.

Some parts of the programme are already underway, but there’s much more to come. We’ll be sharing each strand as it develops over the coming months.

HARLESDEN HIGH STREET: RIDLEY ROAD 2010-2020

For a decade, Tim & Barry's practice was based at Ridley Road Studios in Hackney, a complex set back from the road above a local shopping centre. Known to Tim & Barry and their collaborators simply as “the studio", it was home to Tim & Barry TV, Beat This, Just Jam, No Miming and The Lift. More than the place where this work was made, the studio shaped a decade of collaboration across grime, footwork, UK funky and experimental electronic music. This exhibition takes the studio as its subject, bringing together two signed tabletops, a showreel and a complete list of contributors. Together, they document a community formed through repeated acts of collaboration, experimentation and exchange.
